A kitchen and bathroom cabinet maker plans to expand operations in eastern North Carolina, state and company officials said.
MasterBrand Cabinets will invest $ 13.5 million in its Kinston, North Carolina plant to increase production capacity and meet growing consumer demand, including for its kitchen cabinets.
Over the next five years, the project will create more than 450 jobs.
“We are proud to expand our operations at Kinston, which allows us to better meet our customer demand while providing new jobs and strengthening the communities where our associates live and work,” said the President of MasterBrand , Dave Banyard, in the ad.
The state’s economic investment committee has approved an employment development investment grant that could earn the company more than $ 3.8 million over 12 years. MasterBrand said that although salaries for new jobs vary by position, the average would be above the county’s average annual salary by almost $ 40,000. State officials predict a total payroll impact of more than $ 18 million.
MasterBrand, a subsidiary of Fortune Brands Home & Security, is one of the largest cabinet makers in North America and owns brands such as Homecrest, Kemper, Kitchencraft, and Thomasville. The company is headquartered in Jasper, Indiana.
