Coronavirus Vaccine Registration, Latest Update from Covid-19 India, Coronavirus Case in India Today, Highlights from September 25: The year 2019 stunned humans with the emergence of the new coronavirus. A year later, in 2020, scientists around the world worked at breakneck speed to come up with vaccines against Covid-19 infections. Now, as 2021 draws to a close, the world is once again grappling with a new strain of vaccine inequality and confusion over vaccine recognition. These two problems are only more closely related. This is because, if nations do not come up with an inclusive travel plan, the same group of individuals will continue to be vaccinated while a sizable population waits for the first dose of Covid vaccines.
Suppose, for example, that the UK continues to keep India off its no-quarantine list, a large chunk of Indian leaflets will need to be re-vaccinated while several countries in Africa are hoping to be vaccinated. It also means that the world will not be able to break the chain of the virus.
Back home, some experts believe that the upturn in vaccine exports in October could hamper India’s national program. While our one dose coverage has crossed the 80 crore mark or over 60 percent of eligible citizens, the double vaccination rate is still very slow. In such a scenario, if we start exporting vaccines, we might see a lower number of daily Covid vaccines.
Meanwhile, India reported 29,616 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, bringing its overall number of Covid-19 cases to 3,36 24,419, while active cases increased by 1,280 to 3 01.442, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Saturday. With 290 new deaths, the death toll from Covid-19 has risen to 4,46,658.
