Panaji: In an effort to promote Goa’s products and services and to publicize government support to exporters for international trade, a district-level exporters conclave was held in Ravindra Bhavan Margao on Saturday.
The conclave focused on female entrepreneurship was inaugurated by the Director of Industries, Commerce and Commerce, Swetika Sachan, IAS.
The program was organized by the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce
The event was part of ‘Vanijya Saptah’ which is held on the occasion of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav.
Additional collector, Ajit Panchawadkar, Head of Foreign Trade Development, General Director of Foreign Trade, Venkatesh Rao, President of Indian Women’s Network, CII, Sheetal Pai Kane were present on the occasion.
Swetika Sachan expressed the need to identify exportable products in each district and to work collectively to promote local products in international trade. She highlighted the growth of MSMEs in the state, which would be important for the expansion of foreign trade in the country.
Sachan informed that the state government has notified the export strategies that will support export activities in the state.
Ajit Panchwadkar said local Goa products have not been exhibited internationally and need to be showcased and promoted. Swayampurna Goa government initiative that goes in this direction, he said.
Sheetal Pai Kane, Venkatesh Rao and ASSOCHAM Goa State Council Member Roy Changoer shared their views on export business and entrepreneurship in Goa.
Entrepreneur Riya Patil and Leena Kamat Prabhu shared their experiences.
A one-day program including workshop and exhibition was organized for local exporters and entrepreneurs, where in Goa, exporters, entrepreneurs, self-help groups showcased their products.
