FPCCI Export Awards: Alvi rewards the best exporters – Business & Finance


KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi, addressing the 44th FPCCI Export Awards distribution ceremony, said that today Pakistan has largely overcome its problems related to Covid and economic growth is heading in the right direction and we sincerely hope that we will give a better Pakistan to our future generations.

Despite the difficult circumstances, our business community pursues its activities with great diligence to increase the country’s exports.

On this occasion, President Dr Arif Alvi presented awards for the best performance among the best exporters this year. Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo, President FPCCI, Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, SVP FPCCI, Mian Anjum Nisar, former immediate president, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, VP SAARC Chamber, Mohammad Zahid Shah, Chaudhry Mohammad Saleem Bhullar, Mohammad Hanif Lakhany, Ather Sultans Chawla – FPCCI , Qurban Ali, chairman of FPCCI Capital Office, Mirza Abdul Rehman, chief coordinator and a large number of prominent exporters and traders from all over Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK, participated in the large-scale event which was held at the President House, Islamabad.

Maggo said that we are happy that Pakistan is heading towards economic growth, prosperity and stability and becomes one of the economic powerhouses in the region.

The FPCCI chief added that we need to go beyond conventional products and export markets and take full advantage of the changes taking place in the region. He mentioned that the government should not ignore the Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in shaping economic policies.

The FPCCI should be consulted before imposing new taxes and increasing existing taxes, he added.

Mian Anjum Nisar said in his speech that despite all the difficulties, the exporters are working hard for the development of the country. Due to the increasing cost of doing business in China, it has become very difficult to do business there.

If the Pakistani government facilitates the reduction of business costs, then companies in many countries including China will invest in Pakistan and the Pakistani economy will improve, he added.

Mian Anjum Nisar added that the government’s initiatives were commendable; but, on the other hand, the business world was also facing difficulties due to many political initiatives; that the government should seriously reconsider.

In his opening speech, Dr Arif Alvi said that I am pleased that the FPCCI is an institution that has tirelessly played its role in promoting exports for decades and connecting the business community of Pakistan through its platform. form.

He added that Pakistan is located in a very important geographical location and connected to South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia. He said he believes our business community should take advantage of this unique position to promote its trade and exports. The government is fully aware of the problems of SMEs and provides an enabling environment for the business community.

Alvi said that restoring the economy is the top priority of the government and we want to increase exports and accelerate economic growth. If we can eradicate the dishonesty and corruption from this country, then Pakistan will have its rightful place in the global community, he added.

He congratulated all the winners of the 44th FPCCI Export Award Trophy. It is relevant to note that Reliance Petrochem Industries, Pak-Arab Refinery and Shan Foods won Pakistan’s top three export awards.

The FPCCI congratulates the senior management of the institution, in particular Mirza Abdul Rehman and Qurban Ali, for the very successful, well attended and extraordinary distribution ceremony of the 44th edition of the Export Awards.-PR
