A new round of tariffs suspension / quota has been announced and requests are being sought from manufacturers in the agricultural, industrial and related sectors.

The program opens today (Saturday January 1) and will remain open until 5:30 p.m. on January 31, 2022.

the tariff suspension regime facilitates the import of raw materials, components or intermediate products outside the European Union (EU), duty free, if the item cannot be from EU / Turkey.

the tariff quota regime is designed to address shortages of essential materials within the EU and can be requested in the same way as suspensions.

Welcoming the new call, the Minister for the Promotion of Trade, Digital Technology and Business Regulation, Robert Troy said:

“The program represents an opportunity for Irish manufacturers to reduce the costs of sourcing materials that are not available in the EU. I encourage Irish businesses to take advantage of the tariff and quota suspension system. ”

Applications should be sent by email to [email protected] and assigned to Hillery Brosnan, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Kildare Street, Dublin 2, D02 TD30.

Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The suspension of the rights on these applications, if they are successful, will come into force on January 1, 2023.
