Limestone Coast wine exporters have received support from the state government to showcase their products to the world through a program to improve skills and build better relationships for regional businesses in South Australia.
Showcase SA’s Regional Business Accelerator Series arrived in Coonawarra today, with Trade and Investment Minister Nick Champion.
The Minister joined a wine industry roundtable to hear from more winemakers and producers about the opportunities and challenges facing the local wine industry, famous for its exports of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
“Coonawarra is one of Australia’s most famous, world-renowned wine regions and home to a number of exporters, many of whom are looking to expand their international footprint.” said Mr Champion.
“This program enables local business owners to take their exports to the next level and increase their international reach.
“In a major step, wineries new to the UK market will be supported to attend one of their first international shows since the onset of COVID-19.”
Companies participating in the Accelerator Series have learned valuable information, trained and benefited from networking opportunities.
One such program designed to help boost wine exports from the region is DTI’s US Market Entry Program.
Run in conjunction with Wine Australia, Limestone Coast wineries participate in this 12-month program to help them find pathways to the US market.
Next month other local wine producers, with government support, will attend the London Wine Fair’s ‘Unearthed Wines’ exhibition in June.
